Another Desperate Appeal for Fans by the NHL
The Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings are getting set to drop the puck at Wrigley Field on New Year’s Day. This year’s installment of the Winter Classic will be the third in the NHL’s desperate attempt to draw fans, television ratings and childhood stories from displaced northern retirees now residing at The Villages. The NHL should rename the event the “Ty Conklin Classic”, as this netminder was between the posts for the previous two installments and could be again this year.
