A career of sports love quickly spiraled into a mini-career in sportswriting during college for Don - which is short for Sardonic. Teflon Don began writing for college newspapers in Chicago and North Carolina, eventually ascending to Editor-in-Chief. He also worked as a stringer for a city newspaper in North Carolina.

During graduate school, he began writing for the Associated Press, covering Major League Baseball, the NFL, the NBA, MLS and various college sports. Don’s work has been published in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Bloomington (IN) Herald-Times, the Asheville Citizen-Times, and other various newspaper across the United States and Canada. He also had a stint with Bear Report Magazine, covering the Chicago Bears.

Since finishing graduate school, Don has embarked on a career away from sportswriting, focusing mainly on government-related work and project consulting.
